The company “Romnesa” was established in 1997. The company is situated in Strigailiškis village located just one kilometer away from Ignalina. Its activity the company has started baking bread and pie products, later it has started to bake baumkuchen. Recently the company is the leading company among the Lithuanian bakers of baumkuchen and its products are exported to the various coutries of the world. From 60 well known and assimilated by the company receipts of baumkuchen we bake two sorts of baumkuchen which are the most favourite among Lithuanians: ordinary-traditional and crumbly.
Recently various companies are expanding their activity and offer new confectionery products specially for the wedding or other occasional parties. In 2005 the company „Romnesa“ has become the member of European confectionery heritage network‘s Eastern Upper Lithuania region and happily shares its cookery experience while cooking the traditional meals of its country. Interest in development of baumkuchen technological processes not only in Lithuania but also in foreign countries has prompted the establishment of exposition of accumulated food cooking tools within the premises of the restaurant “Romnesa”, also to introduce the old ways of baumkuchen baking. And those who wish to see and to taste baumkuchen baked in Hungary, Sweden, Germany, will have simply to arrive to visit us.

Another successfully developed activity of the company “Romnesa” is in the field of tourism with the trading mark “Ignaturas”- which is organization of events and recreations, feeding outside the restaurant and inventory rent, accommodation in Mindūnai holiday camp.
